I have taught English for Academic Purposes in the Language Centre for 17 years. I have taught and managed presessional programmes for both undergraduate and post-graduate students, and led large curriculum changes to both the year-round and summer presessional programmes, developing a more integrated approach to EAP teaching. I am now leading developments across the on-course EAP teaching for taught post-graduates. I have a broad interest in teacher education, particularly through curriculum design and classroom observation and practice. I am currently investigating the role language plays in shaping discipline specific knowledge and understanding, and what this means in terms of EAP and subject teacher knowledge and attributes. I am a Senior Fellow of the HEA and a Senior Fellow, mentor and assessor of the BALEAP TEAP scheme.
