Arabic Language Special Issue

Call for papers for Issue 6 (Special Issue) 

The Language Scholar would like to announce a Call for Papers for a special issue focusing on Arabic Language Learning and Teaching in HE. The deadline for submissions is 16th September 2019 with the aim of an early spring release. We welcome any (research & scholarship) topics related to the learning and teaching of Arabic language at HE level. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching methodologies and approaches
  • Innovative techniques and the use of technology
  • Assessment and feedback
  • The integration of content and culture
  • Study abroad programmes
  • Differentiation and working with mixed levels
  • Arabic diglossia and variation
  • Learners needs
  • Arabic teacher training
  • Non-HE topics that can be applicable to a HE setting.

Submissions can be presented in different languages and different formats including:

  • Papers: Max. 7000 words
  • Reviews: Max. 1500 words
  • Scholarbits: Presentations, videos, posters, audio files… etc.
